Welcome to the initial edition of the online magazine of the Institute.

Following up the gala event of Sunday, April 8, Neutra's 109th birthday, and Richard and Dion Neutra day in LA, let me again personally thank everyone who participated in creating and making this the outstanding launch event for NEUTRA AT 75! As you know, everyone who purchased tour tix for this event became a member of the Institute for 2001.

We welcome new members. Please encourage friends to visit our site at www.neutra.org, where they can learn more about the institute and join. We can now accept memberships on-line; see 'join the institute!' on our home page for details We are sending out some promotional copies of this to affiliates whose E addresses we have in hopes you will join and continue to receive these up-dates on the status of the Neutra oeuvre.

We are formulating plans for this on-line NEWSLETTER series and propose the following departments:

Letters: A section that will feature letters/comments from our membership. Please address these, any feedback or suggestions Charlotte Croson at CrosonC@aol.com.

Status of Preservation of Neutra Projects: The latest on the several projects which are being preserved by Institute action, and other matters relevant thereto. Send a support letter for Gettysburg.

'Traveling Exhibition' The View from Inside Show: The latest news on this important element of Institute activities. We've just received word that it will be seen in Orange County starting July 7. Stay tuned for more details, and click on 'Traveling Exhibition' for detaiils.

Neutra in the News: A link to the Institute site where the latest in news stories about the Institute and the firm are highlighted. Click on News.

Latest on Dion: Link to website to review articles, lectures, or other activities of our Executive Consultant.

We would welcome your suggestions of other projects or departments to consider. One of the areas we are going to focus on is the improvement of the Website. My goal is to create an experience that is as 'User Friendly' and interesting as is possible, given our constraints.

I would love feedback from anyone with the inclination to browse the site with a critical eye to specific improvements that would make that experience more enjoyable and easier from any point of view. We also wish to expand our offerings to include sounds; streaming video and audio links, someday even smells and engage the senses as completely as possible. Sort of like a metaphor for what our practice stands for.

Meanwhile, this is to test our data-base. Institute membership is required to be on this mailing list. Spread the word to your friends who may have become members with you, to let us have their E addresses if they did not receive this.
